When I was a tween, I got a few pairs of these hand-tied barrettes by Carolyn Forsman. I'm not sure what my parents paid for them in 1976 but they were worth every penny. These barrettes have not only survived all of these years but they've also survived years of use by my daughter. In case you're wondering, the clips can hold really thick hair. For about 30 years' worth of wearing.--Alyssa
